PA State Weekend

The 43rd Annual PA State Weekend at the National Fire Academy (NFA) in Emmitsburg, MD will be held on July 19-21, 2024.
PA State Weekend is a FREE program offered exclusively for the emergency services personnel of Pennsylvania. A joint venture with the National Fire Academy (NFA), this weekend offers the opportunity to strengthen fire service communities through education, personal networking, and a shared experience.
Courses are held on Saturday and Sunday (July 20-21) from 8am to 4pm/5pm. Attendees will arrive on Friday (July 19th) between 2pm and 7:30pm for on-campus registration where they will receive their dorm room assignments, meal tickets and complimentary golf shirt. Mandatory orientation is held on Friday evening at 7:30pm.
Included in the program
- 10 PA Weekend courses selected by the PA State Fire Academy, including three brand-new offerings for 2024!
- On-campus lodging Friday, Saturday night
- Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner on Saturday | Breakfast & Lunch on Sunday
- Free golf shirt
- Saturday evening memorial service for PA Emergency Responders who have died in the line of duty

Program Applicant Qualifications
- 18 years of age
- Pennsylvania address (organization)
- FEMA Student ID number (SID). Applicants may obtain a FEMA SID number at: https://cdp.dhs.gov/femasid
- Recommended: At least three years of emergency services experience
- Note: Courses may require documentation of completed prerequisites
Application
To apply for PA State Weekend, simply register for at least one of the 10 PA Weekend courses following the steps below (desktop computer recommended).
Once you are accepted into any of the PA Weekend courses, congratulations that means you are officially accepted into the PA State Weekend program!
- Create or log into your Acadis account
- Click “Training and Events" > “Available Training"
- Click “Filters" in the upper-right corner
- Select “National Fire Academy" from the “Location" dropdown menu
- Click “Apply"
- Click “Register" to initiate a course enrollment request
- Complete “Enrollment Request" form and click “Submit Request"
- If your desired course is full, you may submit a waitlist request however we recommend also registering for a backup course that has remaining openings

Q: Where can I view the status of my Enrollment Request?
A: You can view the status of all enrollment requests by logging into to your Acadis account and clicking on “Training and Events" > “Enrollment Requests"
Q: Can I cancel my enrollment?
A: Yes! Send an email to RA-EMPAWKND@pa.gov to request cancelation of courses.
