Fire Inspector I
Purpose
The purpose of this level is to
identify individuals who demonstrate competency in the performance
requirements necessary to perform the duties of a fire inspector. The
NFPA 1031 Standard for Fire Inspector Professional Qualifications
identifies the minimum requirements for an individual to perform the
duties of a fire inspector.
A person certified at the Fire Inspector I
level will have demonstrated competency in the necessary knowledge and
skills, to perform the minimum requirements such as conduct inspections
and plan reviews, public relations interactions, develop written
correspondence to communicate fire protection and fire and life safety
code requirements, maintain records/documents and shall have a knowledge
of basic mathematics, fire prevention principles and knowledge of
characteristics and behavior of fire.
