Driver/Operator – Aerial Tiller
Purpose
The purpose of this certification is to identify emergency service personnel who demonstrate their competencies as a tiller operator for aerial-tiller apparatus. The NFPA 1002 Standard for Fire Apparatus Driver/Operator Professional Qualifications identifies the minimum requirements for firefighters who drive and operate fire apparatus in both emergency and non-emergency situations.
A person who certifies at the Aerial Driver/Operator-Tiller level will have demonstrated competence in the necessary knowledge and skills to meet the minimum requirements of an aerial apparatus driver/operator-tiller.
