Public Fire and Life Safety Educator I
Purpose
The purpose of this program is to
identify emergency service personnel who demonstrate competency in the
performance requirements necessary to perform the duties of a
firefighter/Public Fire and Life Safety Educator. The NFPA 1035
Standard for Professional Qualifications for Public Fire and Life Safety
Educator identifies the minimum requirements for a person at the first
level of progression.
A person certified at the Public Fire and Life
Safety Educator I level will have demonstrated competency in the
necessary knowledge and skills, to conduct fire and burn prevention or
other life safety, injury prevention, public information programs, as
well as compile information, schedule activities, and maintain records.
