Youth Firesetter Program Manager

Purpose

The purpose of this program is to identify emergency service personnel and other professionals who demonstrate competency in the performance requirements necessary to perform the duties of  Youth Firesetter Program Manager.  The NFPA 1035 Standard for Professional Qualifications for Juvenile Firesetter Intervention Specialist identifies the minimum requirements for an individual to be certified at the Youth Firesetter Program Manager level.

The individual shall possess the ability to manage a juvenile firesetting intervention program and the activities of junvenile firesetter intervention specialist I.  The individual will have demonstrated the ability to establish coalitions and interagency networks, develop interagency network agreements, establish a reliable and knowledgeable referral network, provide administrative tools to collect information and data for the purpose of identifying trends in firesetting,  prevention strategies, developing educational/training program and evaluation of Juvenile Firesetter Intervention program. The individual will understand the relevant juvenile laws, retention and access to legal documents, such as case records.
